Top Sun Perennials: Shasta Daisy

Shasta Daisies bring the sunshine to any garden with their white petals and bright yellow center. They are practically fool-proof and thrive in sunny, dry areas and can even handle a cold snap. Keep up on cutting the spent blooms to encourage more flowering throughout the season. Once it is done blooming, prune it back severely to promote stronger root growth/development. While these old-time favorites are pretty easy to care for, make sure to allow for proper drainage. Shasta Daisies do not survive in soggy locations. As with most perennials, new varieties are always popping up with improved habits, double blooms or new colors so be sure to explore all the possibilities with this much-loved plant!
