This warm season grass has a medium to light green color. It’s a low maintenance grass, which means less mowing. It’s also a slow-growing creeping grass that crowds out most weeds and it requires very little fertilization.
Maintenance
Fertilizing
As weather cools, use a slow-release fertilizer like Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food to strengthen the lawn’s roots. It feeds the lawn consistently and is better for the environment.
Watering
Water until the lawn becomes dormant. Especially if warm days are followed by cold ones, moisture keeps the lawn warm.
Mowing
Mow at 2” until the last frost.
