This warm season grass tolerates heat, humidity and partial shade. It establishes quickly and easily with a broad blade grass with a medium-green color.
Maintenance
Fertilizing
As weather cools, use a slow-release fertilizer like Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food to strengthen the lawn’s roots. It feeds the lawn consistently and is better for the environment.
Watering
Water until the lawn becomes dormant. Especially if warm days are followed by cold ones, moisture keeps the lawn warm.
Mowing
When nighttime temperatures drop below 70 degrees, mow at 3½-4” to allow for more leaf surface as it goes dormant.
