Viewing party food can only mean cheese dip. It’s comforting, easy to scoop out and so satisfying! This recipe calls for pork sausage, but feel free to substitute for turkey or vegetarian sausage.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb pork, turkey or vegetarian sausage.
- 1/2 lb ground beef, turkey or meatless ground beed.
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 lb processed cheese product (Velveeta), cubed.
- 1-28 oz can of tomatoes
- 1-4 oz can of green chilies
- 1-10 oz of cream of chicken
Preparation
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, with a wooden spoon break apart the sausage and beef, add the onion and cook thoroughly. Transfer to a slow cooker.
- Layer cheese product on top of the meat.
- In a blender, combine tomatoes, chilies and cream of chicken until smooth. Add to the slow cooker.
- Cook on high for 90 minutes.
