An easy recipe that leaves your guests asking for seconds, and thirds. The ingredients are easy to swap, and you can even use canned chili if you want to make it even easier.
Ingredients
- 1/2 ground beef
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- Chili powder to taste
- 1/2 tbsp cumin
- 1/4 tbsp onion powder
- 1/4 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup of canned beans of your choice, rinsed
- 1-9.25 oz bag of Fritos
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
Preparation
- Cook the beef in a hot skillet until browned. Drain and return to the stove.
- Stir in all the ingredients except for the beans, Fritos and the cheese.
- Add about 1/4 cup of water.
- Stir in beans and cook for 3 minutes.
- On a rimmed baking sheet or a square baking pan, place the fritos, top them the chili and then sprinkle the cheese on top. the heat should melt the cheese. If you prefer you can also use the broiler to melt the cheese and heat through the fritos.
- Serve with onions, jalapeños and sliced green onions as toppings if you're feeling extra fancy.
