A good rule of thumb for keeping weeds under control is to maintain a healthy, lush lawn with scheduled fertilizer and weed treatments throughout the year.  More often than not, prevention is key with keeping weeds from showing up in the lawn.  Tip: Avoid cutting grass too short.  Short, thinning grass is ideal for weed seeds to become established.
